Both of the Garrison Middle School boys basketball teams finish the season with big wins.
The 7th Grade Bulldogs grounded the Woden Eagles Monday night by a score of 29-10. After a first quarter shutout by the Bulldogs, the Eagles played a tough second quarter. The Bulldogs responded by outscoring the Eagles 16-6 in the second half. Once again, a great “team” effort led to several Bulldogs putting points on the board. Adkison and Allen scored two points each. Winder and Lloyd scored three points each. Harvey added four, Sparks added six, and Davidson led the team with nine. This brings the 7th Grade Boys to a UNDEFEATED 8-0 record to finish the season! The entire season was total ‘Dog domination as the average margin of victory was more than 19 points per game and for seven of the eight games, opponents were held to 15 or less total points.
After falling to Woden in the first meeting earlier in the season, the 8th Grade Bulldogs rebounded to make a huge statement in the final game of the season. They jumped out quick to 18-5 in the first quarter and went into the half with a 25-9 lead. Woden battled in the 3rd quarter but it was not enough to stop these hungry ‘Dogs who would go on to win by 16 with a final score of 39-23. Garcia, Peddy, and Lattin contributed two points each. Jones contributed three points. Curbow contributed four points. Pollard added eight but his unselfish play and several assists helped Luce have his biggest game of the year with a team high of 18 points. This winning streak not only brings the 8th Graders season to a close with a 7-3 record, but it brings their middle school careers to a strong close and catapults them into a promising high school career together.
What an amazing season for the GMS Bulldogs! We have a lot to look forward to in the years to come because…
